Age Groups

Ink

Elementary K-5th Grade
Ink is a Sunday-morning environment for elementary-aged kids. It includes an engaging large group gathering for worship and story-telling, alongside a more personal small group time with adult leaders who are thoroughly background checked. In Ink, we believe that church doesn’t have to be boring, the music can be loud and fun and good leaders always care.

Storyland

Pre-K (2.5 – 4 year olds)
Things are starting to get busy at this stage of life. Storyland includes jumping, singing, dancing, and laughter in every experience. Preschoolers participate in many age-appropriate, creative activities throughout the morning. We look forward to helping your child learn more about a relationship God.

Rhythm & Whimsy

Nursery & Toddler (6 Weeks to 36 Months)

Leaving your new baby or toddler anywhere for the first time can be overwhelming.  We want to give your child loving care in a secure and healthy environment with age appropriate activities to keep them engaged while they are with us.  The Rhythm & Whimsy Waymakers have been chosen for the 0-2 year old age group because of their love of children and their training to care for all of the needs of this age group.

FAQS

HOW DOES DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP WORK?
When you arrive at one of our check-in stations, you will use your phone number to check-in your child/children. Each child you check-in will receive a tag to be placed on their shirt. You will also receive a printed tag with the same number that’s on your child’s tag. You will need that tag to pick-up your child. Important note: You will not be able to pick up your child without this number so please plan to keep the number somewhere safe. Safety and security of the children in our care is our number one priority.
Your child will then be placed in a classroom-based upon their age and developmental stage. When you pick your child up, you will hand your security tag to the volunteer. Once they have confirmed that the numbers match, they will release your child to you.
WHAT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS ARE MADE FOR MY CHILD?
We strive to provide excellence, safety, and fun in all of our environments. In every kids ministry, safety is a number one priority. To do this we perform background checks on all volunteers, and provide secure environments in every ministry area. Teachers are also trained twice a year on best child practices for working with your child. Our check-in and drop-off system (as mentioned earlier) is another safety precaution we make.
WHAT IS THE CURRICULUM?
K-5th: follow the same teaching calendar as the adult service, but in an easy-to-understand, kid-friendly way. This allows for conversations to happen between parent and child and one cohesive message.

Pre-K:- Currently uses Grow Curriculum
HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED IN THE VC KIDS MINISTRY?
We have three teams where you can get plugged in for VC Kids. Creative Arts, Small Group Leader, and Parent Relations.
To get involve email johnnyj@viningschurch.com and he will assist you in the onboarding process.

Creative Arts: This involves large group hosting, singing, choreo, stage design, lighting, puppetry, sound and video.

Small Group Leader: This involves leading a small group of kids (between 1 to 6 kids). You facilitate discussion, crafts, games, and small group prayer time.

Parent Relations: This involves greeting parents and kids. Ensuring safety precautions. As the first impressions of VC Kids this role makes sure parents have an easy drop-off and pick-up experience.
DO YOU OFFER CHILD DEDICATION?
Parent/Child Dedication is a commitment for parents to raise their child in the ways of the Lord. During the Parent/Child Dedication, parents are provided the opportunity to make a public declaration to raise their children(ren) in a Christ-centered home and do all they can to lead their kids to know and believe the gospel. The church community is part of this celebration and is asked to commit to supporting and partnering with these parents in their calling. At Crossroads Church, we view dedication not as a statement of salvation for a child but rather a statement of how parents will raise their child(ren). While not a command of scripture, Parent/Child Dedication symbolizes a parent’s desire to obediently raise their child(ren) in the knowledge and instruction of the Lord.

DO YOU OFFER BAPTISMS FOR CHILDREN?
